There was a wildcat stike on my desk - everything mechanical walked off the job after my last post.

The next day my best partner-in-crime from SoCal came to visit and we had an 8 day pajama party - how lucky are we??

She is a wonderful designer and slapped me around for being cranky and we did great work - sorting things - clearing off the backgammon table, placing art and finding the Scrabble game - all of equal importance.

Now she is gone and I had the computer fixed and am back on task.
Though I'd rather being doing something more glamorous, I am actually excited that I am going to assemble the cabinets for my island in the kitchen.

It is a bit scary - but I know I can do it - I just have to go slow because I am still not that strong. I THINK I am - but, no.
It's also hard for me to get down on the floor.......actually it's hard to get UP from the floor and tomorrow I will strap on the knee pads.
Getting old is creepy.

I have faith - take time to read the
DIRECTIONS (man, I hate that) and it will all work out.

That's all for today

What I really want is this.

  1. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friend! I so admire you for assembling your kitchen cabinets. wow. Be sure to show us the finished product!!

  2. I've missed you, Mary. Glad you had some quality time with a great friend. Don't hurry on your kitchen cabs for us. We'll wait patiently. :-)

  3. I have been wondering what happened to you! I'm glad you are back to posting. Even though some points were hairy it is always nice to have a friend near by.
I have faith you can put the cabinet together just take one step at a time and when you are tired my friend REST! I can't wait to see the put together cabinet! Hugs...

  4. Wow Mary....That is one BIG martooni!
I assembled all of our cabs. It gets SO much easier as you do more. Keep all of your tools on the floor, you shouldn't have to get up too much...If I was close I would come help in a skinny minute!

Sounds fun with your friend! I love seeing all of your flowers and bulbs with patched drywall behind...i LIKE your priorities!

Your client with the mexican things REALLY moved here to Vero??? Small world, eh?

  5. So glad you had a fun time with your friend. Sometimes I need my buddies with a bit more energy to get me moving. I think they can see my "vision" a bit clearer than I can at times! Best of luck with the cabinetry!

  6. Great to see you back Mary! I am so impressed that you are putting your own cabinets together! Love the martini with the jalapeno stuffed olive!!! :)

This is a huge project - your interest in St. Marys keeps me energized and I love hearing from you
