STUDIO PROGRESS

And the tassels just keep on coming !!

I am actually putting them all in a closet so they will stay relatively clean.

For any of you ribbon junkies .......I found this shoe rack and it works for big spools of ribbon - and then the smaller rolls or the delicate vintage pieces go in the shoe boxes. I am embarrassed to say how long it took me to get this done - and also that there is still MORE.

All these beautiful things have made me realize I need to re-open Carolyn Hats

Aren't they so lovely?

oh yes, honey...you have ribbon galore, and you know how to use it.
I dunno...sounds like it is in the family to run a hat store. You have more than enough genes and style. Do it. It'd be gorgeous!

Oh Mary I knew we had so much in common!! I thought I was the queen of ribbon, but you have me beat and you have the crowns too!! I love ribbons, ribbons and oh yea did I say ribbons!! Great shop of arranging them the way you did. Soo... when is the hat business openint it's doors? Hugs my friend and a wonderful weekend! xoxo

Yay Mary!! Great job on the organization! I LOVE the color groups- swoon! I can't wait to see your first hats in your new collection! Your new venture is going to be a HUGE success! I am so excited for you!

The Project

I saved the church and the church saved me. This wonderful renovation project began in August '06 with an attempted act of terrorism. I was to return to So. California from Wisconsin on the day that crazed people with explosives in their shampoo bottles were busted in London and the whole world stood still. I took the option of re-booking my flight a week later and set out to find an interesting place to make my new home. I drove to the country to see a lovely Victorian farmhouse and passed an old church with a simple "For Sale" sign - and the rest is history. Actually, it wasn't all that simple. My offer was accepted in September the same week I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everyone insisted I cancel the offer....I was too sick - there was too much to do - the job was too big - I had to stay in California - blahblahblah. I told them it would give me something else to think about - a reason to get up every morning - it would save my life.

And it did.
