SMALL VICTORIES

I am officially "up to date" .... from this point on I am reporting progress in real time.

this weekend was about small victories

in my laundry room (okay - it's a closet) I hung this rack for the ironing board and iron and stuff.... the joke is - I did it for Gail because I don't iron unless my life or career depends on it.

I hung the rod in the old hall closet and now I have a real coat closet for my real coats - and I hung it higher than normal so there is plenty of room for my winter boots.

Remember - I have been in Southern California for over 30 years - coats and boots are an exciting new thing for me.

LIFE IS GOOD

Hey Mary...

Great work Girl. We miss you here in CA. The Weather is dry and hot, and the rivers low.

You know how I feel about Churches, but your's is fantastic. I will be keeping up on your progress. Knowing you for all these years, monthly visits should suffice! LOL

The Project

I saved the church and the church saved me. This wonderful renovation project began in August '06 with an attempted act of terrorism. I was to return to So. California from Wisconsin on the day that crazed people with explosives in their shampoo bottles were busted in London and the whole world stood still. I took the option of re-booking my flight a week later and set out to find an interesting place to make my new home. I drove to the country to see a lovely Victorian farmhouse and passed an old church with a simple "For Sale" sign - and the rest is history. Actually, it wasn't all that simple. My offer was accepted in September the same week I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everyone insisted I cancel the offer....I was too sick - there was too much to do - the job was too big - I had to stay in California - blahblahblah. I told them it would give me something else to think about - a reason to get up every morning - it would save my life.

And it did.
